The Young Building
Located at 117-119 East Main Street, the Young Building was donated to the Delphi Preservation Society in December 2013 by the Young Family which operated the Culligan Water Service from that facility for many years. The 3-story brick was built in the 1870s by Abner H. Bowen, financier and owner of the Bowen Bank on the corner of the block. Blythe Furniture occupied part of the building during its early years, followed by Fowler Furniture. In 2015 the facade of the building was restored as part of the Stellar Communities project in Delphi. Also in 2015, Keller Development is turning the upper stories into residential units as part of an affordable-housing tax credit project known as Canal Commons.
